CNY and penang 29.01

This year's first day of Chinese New Year saw me collecting some angpows from relatives. I stayed at home all morning and waited till late afternoon until all my brothers  woke up then only we went to my grandma house. During the second day, we went to visit my cousin's house and get some angpows too haha. Then wei jaan arrived from kl in the late afternoon but i didn't have much time to greet him cuz i am heading to my dad's friend's house for a new year open house dinner. 

the third day of new year, my 2nd aunt came to our house while i was waiting for wei jaan and friends to come. Went out for dinner with my family and then after a few rounds a round pokok assam, taiping and aulong, i went to prima cafe to meet my friends. A surprise is that i met ah xiang, greg's friend which i knew him during my college years around 2003-2005 and hadn't met him since then. We then headed to taiping famous lake garden area at around 11pm and guess what our trip is for? haha looking for "ah gua" or cross-dresser in english. Don't get me wrong, we are not calling for ah gua but we go see see only haha, meaning starring at them while we were all in the car. We then went back to wei jaan's hotel room in Sri malaysia for some new year "huat cai" gambling. I managed to suck up some ringgits here haha, a bit of new year luck haha.

29 of jan, after having "po un" or regain luck (straight translation :P) in my grandma house, we (wei jaan, julia, greg chuah, ah xiang and me) drove up to penang at around 11.30am. Half way through wei jaan got summon for speeding lol. A thing that always happen especially during festive seasons as many policemen were hungry for angpow money oso. Ah.. it's penang... We went to ate pork porridge near sunway hotel and then gurney plaza to meet wugui or chey hui (it's hard for me not to pronounce it as green light which in hokkien called "chey hui" as well... hehe soli  ya). 

Together with Chey hui and her sister, we went to toy museum. What can i say about it... lots of toys.. quite interesting as a lot of toys and some rare collectible (even though i don't know which are rare haha) can be found there. Our penang trip continue to Batu Ferringhi area for our dinner at Sunset bay. Wow what a nice place to be during this time. Sunset, beach, fried rice, fresh juice and sui cha bos... (din manage to see one actually haha). Just a fun and relaxing place to be... good recommendation chey hui!!! Thanks a lot and that's the 29 of jan the forth day of Chinese New Year.

Happy 牛 Year

Ah time to write some new year wishes here... haha. The past few days had been doing some cleaning and keeping the house and all the things clean and tidy to be ready for the awaited Chinese New Year. Yesterday, Sunday is also the last day of the lunar calendar year which is also a time for reunion dinner. This year's reunion dinner's main dish is... seafood, which is quite similar to last year's but with some difference and additional stuffs haha. Abalone and Abalone, 'Extra Large' Scallops which can't fit in ones mouth in 1 go, shark fins (i know Wildlife thingy and WWW says something about this :-S haha) and this year's extra > Large Oysters. I'll post some pictures when I upload them on my computers. 

So the time came when the clock strike 12am... it's chinese new year...  新年快樂 恭喜發財 心想事成 萬事如意 牛年行大運 招財進寶 事事順利 步步高升 and so on haha.... too many to list all out. Ah prayed with all the gods and wish them happy new year and thrown some firecrackers, and created a few pili palak here haha. Chinese New Year hasn't been as fun as before when I was young. That was in my grandma's house where all the neighbours would play firecrackers and the pili palak will surely accompanied with the unresting Boom Boom sound... Well this year new is quiet with only a few booms during 12am and nothing more than the barking of some dogs and meowing of some cats after that.  So the lacking of a firecracker filled atmosphere and also new year gambling puts me in a mood for bed soon haha. Huhu and I'm feeling sleeping now haha and going to see Jay's grandpa soon. Oops better look for Jay's grandma cause the queue will surely be shorter and i can get my sweet candy dreams soon and wake up early tomolo and start collecting "Ang Pow". By the way, I have collected 2 so far, that's from both my parents of course hahaha. Thank you very much, gong xi fa cai and I love you both. I'm too shy to tell you these :) and muaks plus hug hug hehe huhu shy shy... Happy New Year..

Till I am back in Hometown

I rush to get all my things done on wednesday as this might be the last day in KL before going back to hometown for Chinese New Year. I went to Serdang in the afternoon around 2pm to have a lunch with my X in Jusco plus getting back a bracelet which i'd left with her. I then went to Sungei Wang to buy CDs which I had missed while staying in Australia over the past 2 years. There are actually too many of them that i wanted to buy but in order to same some $$ i bought 6 CDs on wednesday which costs me rm268... here are the lists haha...

I was actually planning pick Karen up at 6.30 with my computer to transfer some songs and then went to Halo Forest to meet up with Chakumi before heading to University Malaya to watch a composing concert there. Well after buying my CDs, a time check noted the clock ticking at around 6pm, wow time is running out, and it seems impossible for me to go back home to get my computer now. Hei hei hei guess what i see after walking out of Sungei Wang? An unexpected heavy down pour!!! Darn, I forget to my umbrella-ella eh eh eh... wondering if the rain would ever stop, I was then forced to get an umbrella from guardian in Lot 10. The raining journey from KL to USJ is a bad one. Traffic jam is inevitable especially from Subang to USJ but what make this journey more interesting is that I drove the wrong route again haha. Adding extra time to this already late meeting. I managed to arrive at Karen's place at 7++pm.. The way to UM isn't smooth as well.. traffic jam and driven yet another wrong route haha. But managed to arrive just a little bit late for the concert!!

Wow big hall full of crowds with live bands, "some" good music pieces and also singers. Its the first time i ever entered a multipurpose hall of a government university. It is surely a nice place to be in. I hope i can join some of the events which are similar to this one... especially when they are Mandarin. Half way through the show .. Joon Wayne called to give me the lollipop present that i had forgotten to bring back. Thanks Joon Wayne for bring it to me hehe...

Remember that I said Wednesday is a pasar malam day? haha yea after the concert which ended around 11.30pm, we head straight to Cheras.. with me were Karen, Chakumi, Chakumi's sis and mom plus a friend from Halo forest plus there is also Jian Ning, his gf and 2 of LWSSOM composing classmates. Note the time, haha so we arrived there close to midnight but the crowds are still overwhelming, all midnight crawlers i can say hahaha. I can say that i am quite lucky this time cuz i managed to buy Chou Tofu this time haha considering the time because Chou tofu usually sold out fast. For the Chou tofu fans, we got a new member join us >> Karen Chai haha. Yea she chewed 2 pieces of Chou tofu for the first time... bravo bravo hehe. 

Thursday isn't a relax day for me either, waking up at 9am, i had to reach Kelana Jaya before 10.30am to meet the lollipop's owner ~ Nicole Ng! Yea meeting her for the first time since coming back from Aussie. Together we went to LWSSOM which i bought 2 CDs haha. Poof here are the lists:

Then its time for the 'Balik Kampung' plan to start after my lunch at SS2 wai sek kai. Fetched Khai Lim and the Ah Peng, my younger brother and then head back to Taiping. The beginning of this journey is quite dangerous as i felt quite sleepy but have to force myself to stay awake because my bro is sleeping :S. if not i will surely call him to drive so i can meet Jay Chou's grandfather >> 周公! Another thanks to Karen because of her orange flavored chocolate bar, I manage to stay awake for the whole journey by munching her chocolate while driving haha. So the whole journey took around 3+ hours and we arrived at Taiping at 8.30pm. That's the end of my rushing Balik Kampung Thursday.

Friday?? Lazying at home and then went to have some Laksa and ABC at Pokok Assam with my mom in the evening. Wet Market was our next destination which was quickly followed by Tesco and then Home Sweet Home... lazy till now writing things in my blog. Ah its time to sleep now... 3.08am oledi woh.. eee Faster go sleep haha Sweet dreams everyone. tata~~

S Tuesday

Yesterday saw me completing my 1000 words abstract. Wow what a relief and there is only some references left to be done and off it goes to the ENC conference paper submission which has a deadline on 31 jan 2009. Then I'm off to 1U and stayed there for lunch at subway and accompany Karen jie jie for shopping. Another day with lots of things learn from Karen , a great teacher hahaha. We went for k at neway till 7pm and then continue with some shopping till 10pm and made it a 9 hours shopping spree. Oops i forget something.. parking fees which cost me rm 9 haha. I should had drove my car out after parking 6 hours so as to save my parking money haha. Bought something for wugui and a hat today. Karen gave me a ZA thingy as a present for this year.. Thanks Karen thanks a lot :-) 

After English exam...

Saturday could be one of the earliest day that i woke up during this holiday. With my handphone singing "SHE's London Bridge" haha at 6.45am, i got my lazy butt off the bed..  Oh yes about the exam.. All i can say is that i don't think i can get a good results from what i had done. One of the main reasons.... I don't know why but my brain just turned empty so suddenly when i did my writing exam.. So what i can wrote with this brain? haha a pile of junks that i that might be worth throwing in the junkyards than placing the paper in front of some examiners. So what is the expected marks? I think i will get the lowest mark for both speaking and writing.. say around band 5 to 6 haha... wasted another RM530.. yikes

That's for the exam! Of course my plans for saturday had just started haha... OH YES.. long waited haircut at MIKO Puchong together with Karen, a friend that i get to know from playing online game, haha yes i know i might be to old for this i guess haha. Got a director 'Edison' to cut my hair and now it is back to a mid-length kind of hairstyle... Karen did a re-bonding and treatment for her hair and all in all it lasted 6-7 hours i guess haha.. But it was ok with me... at least i got to know a few new friends and something on re-bonding and treatment from Karen haha. And that sums up my Saturday... What's next? Sunday of course....

Oh yes sunday is a shopping day... Woke up around 9.45am and then drove my golden little saga to Karen to pick this 'kar jei' to the hottest shopping location in town, the Sungei Wang area. Opps almost forget, I hadn't had my lunch yet, so does Karen, haha. All i can say is deciding which place to eat really defeat me, for me any food is fine... as long as it is nice.... Wow it rhymes means.. it is correct haha. PS: no dairy product  on my food only haha. In the end we ended up eating at Madam Wong Cafe, not a bad choice. Halfly recommended haha.. wait till i find a place with is superb :P 

Shop shop shop in Sungei Wang Plaza and Times Square.. Got my Nike AIR MAX Spot Up for RM259 and a pair of jeans for 130. That's what i got today thanks to my own personal fashion advisor Karen hahaha. She picked some of the more fashionable pieces which turned me into a Korean kind of look.. Hmm not bad.. I might consider this for a change.. Not the seashells (LALA) or ah beng type, but the cool gei hehe. Karen also got some stuffs as her "new year clothing and accessories" as well. Wrapping up at Times Squares saw the time clicking at around 7 but that's not all haha... 

Wooohooo Mid Valley here i come :S haha yes yes continue with the shopping spree haha... Opps Karen got something that kicks in during this time... Gastric. It seems like a lot of gals tend to have gastric... a trend? Wow please do watch over your body nicely... gastric is a real pain... ok back on what's on today... Dinner at Nandos then sent Karen back. 

As i thought that this will wrap up my sunday and starts a new week, funny and surprising stuffs pop up. Wooo funny because Karen said "Later when i forget to change the touch n go card (TnG) in my TAG machine, you (which is me, YK) will be surprised that suddenly your TnG card reload itself when its credit finishes".... and she really forgot to take back her TnG card haha (See i told you don't change the TnG! just use mine will be ok). Let's take a break and understand more about this TnG thingy that reload itself when the credit in it finishes. 

Karen uses this TnG card from one of the local bank that automatically credit a fixed amount into your TnG card automatically when the credit in it runs dry so you don't have to reload at specific TnG centre or machines.

Enough on the ads... back to main business haha... So i made a U-turn and went back to return Karen's TnG card. Haha guess what happened? I won an award for 最受歡迎男歌手獎... Rubbing my eyes... :S award??? yea no joke, I suddenly got an award out of nowhere haha.. It is from the online gaming thing haha.. Thanks you very much haha I have to start my appreciation speech... here goes..

First of all i would like to thank my wonderful family, dad mom, sister and brothers for the support haha.. Thank to my idolised vocal teacher Winnie Ho, Athena Beh and Su-yi for the guidance haha.. okok enough of this haha.. thanks to the "Unplug family of MTT".. really appreciated. Wuu huu End of Sunday Report hahahaha Goodnight everyone.. and thanks Karen for coming out and be my fashion advisor and sorry for wasting your time hehe... How to speak....

Had my speaking test today and the topic was "describe a sports that you joined or watched".... darn all i can say is that i really screwed everything up. what can the outcome be when even I felt that the words that are coming out of my mouth sounds really terrible? Probably I have to eat more vegetable to prevent this terrible from going into horrible :S.. Well all i can say is that this exam screwed my mood up for the whole day. 

Well Wednesday is always a day for Cheras Pasar Malam. And I didn't missed it even after some changes of plan happened during the afternoon. I was hoping that this night market can cheer me up a bit but my long waited 'chou tou fu' was sold out and then the rain kicks in when we were halfway through KL's longest night market. So what's next? home sweet home of course... Just hope that it will be a better day when i woke up tomorrow which i will have to do more practice for my Listening, Reading and Writing exam this Saturday. Huhu goodnight everyone. Pray hard so that my ielts can get at least band 7 for all of the components.... Thanks and cheers...

Back to KL~~

Got my ride from hometown back to KL today. Was actually planning to do some of the IELTS reading exercises on the bus but i only managed to complete 1 passage. haha that's better than none i guess. Guess what irritates me during my bus journey? An old lady that talks during the whole journey. Wow surely she didn't rest at all throughout the whole 4 hours journey haha. Aiks tomorrow is my ielts speaking test.. wish me luck everyone. Thanks huhu.. Goodnightzz

Oh yea another things that bothers me a lot is the accommodation that my friends are planning for the penang trip. 400+ at first... and after me and another friend complained on it, this friend found something 300+.. which for me still is a very expensive way to stay considering my hometown is only less than an hour drive to penang. Besides that, i think we shall be out seeing penang till late at night and the time spent in the hotel is just a tiny little few hours.. so why pay more? yuhoo... anyone go penang just to swim in the hotel swimming pool? Jacuzzi ? wow i am totally speechless.... time wasting unless you are going to stay there for a few days then i can understand this. Hai~~~ anyway hope it really doesn't burn my pocket... pray hard for cheap hotelzzz.... 

Countdown

Last night was tough for me to get to sleep as my mind keeps on mumbling to itself... "Time is running out and i still so many things to do". Abstracts for conference paper, study for my ielts exam, cny clothes to buy and many more... 

Counting the dates left for Lunar New  Year, wow.. only i figured it is only 2 weeks left :S gosh that means my holiday is ending soon. I hate this feeling cause I always wanted to stay here (my country haha) a bit bit longer... but then the research on the lower half of this globe is still waiting for me. Blink * a question emerged! "Should i continue my research?" It is sure a tough question for me to answer. Guess what's in my mind 24/7? A) Music B) Music C) Music D) Music... Gosh you are smarter than what you think you are! :-) This is one of the main reason that makes me wanted to at least pause my research for a while. I have been counting on how many years that is left for me to complete my research studies, the other reason... my age after getting out... wuu who the heck wanted to see a person of age 26-27 competing and even if there is, there should only a few options left... 

Hmm life gives you lots of things to think about... and making a decision really requires lots of courage... I'm still stuck.... yikes...
