Its been so long~~

Wow its been 3 months since I last updated my blog. Well, a lot of things happened during this few months. First off is the UNIBUD's annual event… namely the BODHI NITE 2009 which took place on the 29th August 2009. I participated in the choir and also singing for the finale song with a group of talented people. We had been practicing really hard for this event and it turn out not bad especially for the UNIBUDs' song in which the dance caught a lot of people's eyes. I too enjoyed dancing it! FYI we choreograph it ourselves ^^ haha. Aside from that, I also heard that our Finale Team did quite an outstanding job not only that the song is composed by one of our talented composer but the song itself carries a classical genre behind it. It is enjoying and quite challenging for me to sing this sort of "classical" type of song as it is my first haha! A good experience :)

While others were busy practising for the bodhi nite, I had another mission to do lol! I joined the Joint University Singing Talent (JUST) singing competition and so I had to prepare and practice songs for the first and semis round. Quite lucky! i managed to squeeze into the finals and fight alongside with the other 21 finalists. Uhmm, this was also my first time being in the finals of a competition. Being quite lucky this year isn't it? haha…

It is a difference experience at JUST competition. I get to have a short vocal lesson with Alan Lee. All I can say he is really really good and very accurate in pinpointing where my errors are (in singing). And thanks to him, I get to realise that I have a bad habit of tensing up my neck muscle while singing. This let me to find ways on how to sing in a more relaxed way. I think i've improved since then. Most important is that I get to know a lot of lovely friends at JUST who shares the same interest as me. Thank you guys… and i love all of you. Hope that our friendship stay forever and not only for this competition. Oh yes, for those who wanna know how i did in the competition… haha i failed to impress the judges. I would say it is just bad luck cause I picked up a fast ball during the second round of the finals which just shows my weakness (tempo testing). Congrats to Peter, Brighton and Shane for getting the top 3. I am actually quite impressed with Jessica and Michael. Both of them are my personal top 2 to snatch the prize lol.

A week after the JUST competition, all of us got the chance to gather together again. The main reason behind this is to allow all other contestants who had practised so hard for the third round to perform the song out. As for me, as an acapella fan, was actually longing for JAD's acapella cover of Jay's song but in the end , it turned out to be the song Fan Fan's 一比一. Hehe seems like i got the wrong information but nonetheless i still get to listen to an acapella! ^^ well to be honest, it was quite messy but hey! it is really hard to do an acapella and lots of talent and practice are needed so… great job!

What's next? hmm I'm planning to join 超級星光大道6 australia region audition! Till now i still haven picked the songs that i am going to sing… and the due date for the competition is just around the corner (20 oct 2009)! Well wish me luck for this one :) love you all.
